About

Hi!

My name is Sojin Josephson. I am a 22-year-old who graduated last May with a BA in broadcast and print journalism and a minor in media arts from the University of Montana. Now I’m working at CBS News, specifically with CBS This Morning, and fulfilling a lifelong dream of living in New York City. I came to New York right after graduation to attend the New York University Summer Publishing Institute and learn about the magazine world, but decided to stay closer to news.

During college, I reported for and helped produce a documentary for MontanaPBS called Aging Out: Autism in Montana. I also reported, produced and hosted a segment of Business: Made in Montana that aired on MontanaPBS and anchored MontanaPBS News Brief. I reported, produced and anchored for UM News for one semester and worked as a sports reporter for the Montana Kaimin, UM’s student newspaper, for a year. During that year, I also freelanced sports stories for The Missoulian and interned at KPAX-TV, the local CBS affiliate. Before that, I worked at the Kaimin as a copy editor.

My junior year of college, I studied fashion at Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. During my time abroad, I traveled to 15 other countries, ate gelato every day and created friendships that will last a lifetime.

I was born in South Korea, but came to the U.S. at 4 months old. I grew up in the small town of Big Timber, MT with the greatest family anyone could ever ask for, including my mom, dad, younger brother and two dogs, Poppy and Sport. I participated in cheerleading and golf all through high school, along with various other extracurricular activities.

In my college years, I was part of the university’s fashion blog called Trendsetters at the U. I also served as a UM Advocate for two years. As a student ambassador, I gave campus tours, led orientations and volunteered at community events.

I love shoe shopping, storytelling, dogs, football, people, traveling, Ernest Hemingway, Taylor Swift, ice cream, the Griz and everything Montana–especially Glacier National Park and my family’s cabin at East Rosebud Lake.

Ciao ciao for now,

-Sojin
